Searchable database of IRS-registered exempt charities, including private foundations. Information is drawn from the IRS Master List. Twice-monthly newspaper of the philanthropic sector. Great way to keep up on charitable trends and familiarize oneself with the nonprofit sector. Web site is also very useful, including archived stories for the past four years and dozens of web links, although some parts of the site are available only to subscribers.

Transatlantic Community Foundation Network (TCFN)
The Transatlantic Community Foundation Network (TCFN) was created in 1999 to promote the development of community foundations on both sides of the Atlantic, and particularly in parts of Europe and North America where the community foundation concept was just beginning to take root. It is a learning community comprised of four dozen community foundations and support organizations from close to a dozen countries. The Network has produced a series of free resources targeted to emerging and developing community foundations, available on the Network’s website:
