Our nonprofit partners are on the front lines during the COVID-19 public health crisis, delivering critical services, while simultaneously caring for the health and safety of your employees and managing business operations.
The Dallas Foundations wants to ensure efficient and timely access to philanthropic dollars so those resources can reach the individuals and families most in need without placing an undue burden on your organization.
Starting March 23, nonprofits responding to the COVID-19 crisis are invited to apply for funding through North Texas Cares. This joint initiative, made up of 15 North Texas organizations including The Dallas Foundation, will support one common grant application for agencies that work with people and communities most negatively affected by COVID-19. This single application process will simplify and streamline the process for nonprofits seeking emergency funds.
The North Texas Cares application is now open with no due date. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and evaluated every single week. Decisions will be made throughout the crisis period to facilitate the urgent need for funding against evolving community need.

In order to be eligible for funding, agencies must meet the following criteria:

Must provide services in the North Texas area - Must provide services that address immediate response or long-term relief efforts in response to COVID-19
- Requests need to focus on first responders and/or support for vulnerable populations– (examples could include seniors, children, homeless, low-income)
We’re all in this together, and with the critical work of our nonprofit community, we will get through this challenging time and emerge stronger than before.
