For donors and funders who want to provide support to the people of Ukraine, we’ve complied a list of nonprofit organizations which have mobilized humanitarian relief operations in the area:
- UNICEF: UNICEF has been working nonstop in eastern Ukraine, delivering lifesaving programs for affected children and families as fighting has taken an increasingly heavy toll on the civilian population of 3.4 million people — including 510,000 children — living in the Donbas region. Donate >
- Médecins Sans Frontieres/Doctors Without Borders: While MSF remains in Ukraine, they are currently seeking ways to adapt their response as the conflict situation evolves to ensure people’s access to health care and medicines. Prior to the conflict, medical projects included HIV care in Severodonetsk, TB care in Zhytomyr, and improving health care access in Donetsk in eastern Ukraine. Donate >
- Save the Children: Save the Children has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, delivering essential humanitarian aid to children and their families. A donation to the Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund can help provide children and families with immediate aid, such as food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support and cash assistance. Donate >
- UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR): UNHCR is working with the authorities, UN and other partners in Ukraine and ready to provide humanitarian assistance wherever necessary and possible. UNHCR is also working with governments in neighboring countries, calling on them to keep borders open to those seeking safety and protection and stands ready to support efforts by all to respond to any situation of forced displacement. - Care: Gifts support CARE’s Ukraine Crisis Fund to reach 4 million with immediate aid and recovery, food, water, hygiene kits, psychosocial support, and cash assistance — prioritizing women and girls, families, and the elderly. Donate >
- International Medical Corps: International Medical Corps is responding to the conflict by expanding access to medical and mental health services for those living in affected communities. Donate >
- World Central Kitchen: Working at a 24-hour pedestrian border crossing in southern Poland, WCK began serving hot, nourishing meals within hours of the initial invasion and are now set up at multiple border crossings across the country. Additionally, WCK is supporting local restaurants preparing meals in Odessa and Lviv, two cities in Ukraine. WCK teams are also on the ground in Romania and arriving soon to Moldova, Slovakia, and Hungary to see how we can best support. Donate >
- International Committee of the Red Cross: The ICRC has been working in Ukraine since 2014, with operations in the country among the ten largest ICRC operations worldwide. Working closely with the Ukrainian Red Cross Society, the ICRC is increasing its response to the humanitarian needs in Ukraine, including emergency assistance such as food, water, and other essential items, support for hospitals and primary healthcare facilities with medical equipment and emergency preparedness, repairing water stations and support for households to rehabilitate their damaged homes, and helping families separated by the conflict reconnect. - Voices of Children: The Ukrainian organization’s Charitable Foundation helps provide psychological and psychosocial support to children affected by the armed conflict, according to its website. Voices of Children’s efforts of support for kids include art therapy, video storytelling, providing mobile psychologists and individual help for families. Donate >
