DALLAS – Nov. 4, 2024 – The Dallas Foundation, the first community foundation in Texas, is thrilled to announce the finalists for 2024’s Pegasus Prize. The Pegasus Prize is a $50,000 social innovation grant awarded to organizations breaking new ground in addressing community needs. Known for championing transformative initiatives, the Pegasus Prize recognizes nonprofit organizations that apply creative, data-driven, and cost-effective solutions to persistent challenges impacting Dallas County residents.
The Dallas Foundation is a trusted steward of philanthropic resources with a long history of fueling impactful, sustainable change in Greater Dallas. As a testament to that mission, the Pegasus Prize not only provides critical financial support but also elevates the recipient’s visibility, creating opportunities for additional community investments and endorsement of their work’s importance.
“Our mission with the Pegasus Prize is to spotlight and resource organizations that are redefining solutions to long-standing challenges in our community,” said Vickie Allen, Chief Impact Officer of The Dallas Foundation. “This award is about more than just funding; it’s a celebration of innovation and a commitment to helping Dallas thrive by investing in ideas that lead to lasting, meaningful change.”
Since its inception, the Pegasus Prize has supported significant, life-changing organizations such as Bonton Farms, After8toEducate, Yoga N Da Hood, 2S Industries, Family Compass, and FreeWorld. These investments highlight the foundation’s commitment to identifying and supporting initiatives that drive real progress for Dallas.
