Julie Diaz was appointed President & CEO of The Dallas Foundation in 2024, at a pivotal moment as the organization prepares to celebrate its centennial in 2029. Through Julie’s leadership and collaboration with the Board of Governors, the Foundation has emerged as a unifying force in Dallas philanthropy, driving collaboration among diverse stakeholders to address shared priorities.
Since joining the Foundation in 2019 as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Julie has led record-breaking growth in contributions and grantmaking, significantly expanding its capacity to address critical needs across North Texas. Her strategic vision has strengthened donor relationships and positioned the Foundation as a catalyst for positive change in the region.
Named to the Dallas Business Journal‘s Texas 100 as one of 25 Dallas leaders poised to make significant impact in 2025, her impact is being recognized across our region. Julie’s leadership emphasizes continuous learning and collaboration, leveraging Foundation’s unique role in both funding initiatives and convening donors, nonprofits, and community leaders. Julie is a strong advocate for sustained, coordinated support for local organizations and works to empower the Foundation’s growing donor community to invest in Dallas’ future.
Drawing on extensive nonprofit experience in strategy, governance, revenue growth, and communications, Julie has led resource development teams at prominent Dallas institutions, including The Perot Museum of Nature and Science, Greenhill School, and Southern Methodist University. She also held leadership roles contributed to renowned organizations such as The Philadelphia Orchestra, the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and GBH Public Television and Radio in Boston.
Julie Diaz is an active member of Dallas Assembly and Charter 100, championing collaboration in community development and philanthropy. She actively advocates for breaking down silos in community development and empowering philanthropic leaders to drive change across North Texas. She holds a BA in Arts Management from Salem College and an MBA from Boston University. Julie has also served as an adjunct professor at SMU Meadows School for the Arts.
A long-time Dallas resident, Julie and her husband, Andres, enjoy playing pickleball and spending time with their two grown sons.
